We play well with others.

If you need extra development capacity for your in-house team, we're a remote pair connected to you by GIT — you'll find us on GitHub and Bitbucket — plus email, chat, and video. We regularly support B Corps and nonprofits alongside agency work.

And if you're a design studio looking for a development partner to translate your comps to the web, that's most of what we do. Mobile-first, responsive, and built to match what you designed.

Our rates, in public

You shouldn't have to book a call to find out what someone charges. Here's what we bill, so you can decide whether we're worth a conversation before spending one.

$75 / hour

Development

Custom theme and front-end builds, functionality work, integrations, and anything that involves writing code.

$65 / hour

WordPress & project management

Installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and running a web project end to end.

$55 / hour

Content loading

Getting copy and imagery into the CMS or the markup, including resizing images for use.

Lower rates are often possible on monthly retainer relationships — worth asking if you expect steady volume.

Terms

How billing works

Projects over $500
50% up front to commence work, 50% on completion or when it goes live.
Projects under $500
Billed monthly, near the first of the month. Same for piecemeal requests.
Paperwork
Bitclone, LLC is happy to complete a W-9 or provide our TIN.

Process

How a project runs

We work on your staging environment and hand finished work back there. Nothing goes live without your sign-off.

  1. You send specs What the work is, what compensation is offered, and when it's due. Timeline and available budget up front saves everyone a round.
  2. Contract signed We provide it; you agree to it. Then work starts.
  3. You grant access Whatever the job needs — Bitbucket, WP Engine, staging and live, SFTP or WordPress credentials, PSDs and design comps, your project manager, your lead developer, your organization's developer guidelines.
  4. We build on staging You review the finished work in your own environment, not a screenshot.
  5. Approval, then live We can push it live, or leave it on staging for you to deploy when it suits you.

Scope

Ways we might help

Comps to custom WordPress theme

You provide design comps and assets; we return a semantically coded, responsive custom theme.

Added functionality

New features on an existing client site, using JavaScript, plugins, or add-ons as the CMS makes appropriate.

Partial or sectional builds

Just the HTML and CSS for a section or template, when your team is handling the rest.

E-commerce

WordPress and WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, and similar storefront platforms.

HTTPS / SSL conversion

Moving a client site to secure hosting, which search engines have long since stopped treating as optional.

Content loading

Copy and imagery into the CMS or straight into the markup, with images resized for the web.

Full design and build

Discovery and kickoff, mood boards, wireframes, on-page SEO and content, comps, valid markup, custom theme, and training — concept through launch.
